Abu Dhabi waste co steps up awareness efforts
Cleaning campaigns and awareness initiatives part of CWM's agenda
The Centre of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi (CWM) is organising activities to raise awareness among the public about the importance of proper waste management.
It organised a cleaning campaign across farms in Al Sila and Ghayathi districts in the Western Region of the emirate. The campaign cleared over 6,000 cubic metres of animal waste from the collection points.
West Coast Cleaning and Environmental Service was contracted by the Centre to deploy the team of workers and equipment necessary.
Mohsen Al Ameri, Western Region's branch manager, CWM said: "The campaign comes as part of our efforts to establish an efficient waste management system that will facilitate the adoption of conducive practices among the community. We, at the Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi, are confident that joining hands with our stakeholders will ensure a greener, healthier and happier environment across the Western Region and throughout Abu Dhabi."
The organisation also supported the fifth annual 'Al Hilal Auto Festival' while highlighting best practices such as recycling and the effective disposal of waste, particularly carton and plastic.
As part of its presence at the festival, CWM hosted a dedicated stand to educate visitors on its range of services and initiatives.
