CW Awards Oman: Atkins bags a brace of trophies
Firm wins Construction Executive of the Year & Consultant of the Year
Atkins picked up a brace of prizes at the Construction Week Awards: Oman
Matthew Squires, managing director of Atkins in Oman, was named Construction Executive of the Year and the company also won in the Consultant of the Year category.
Squires was recognised by the judges for the honest and open style of his client relationships and the clear focus of his communication. The judges noted that the Atkins entries demonstrated a very good year for the company, with it being awarded some key design commissions during 2012.
Among the company's notable achievements was the introduction of a graduate training scheme, and the role that the company is playing in bringing sustainable design methods to the country.
The awards were announced at a gala ceremony held in Muscat, which saw 12 accolades presented to a selection of industry-leading companies, projects and individuals.
Selected finalists from the Construction Week Awards: Oman, which was sponsored by Famco, will get a further chance to claim success at the GCC edition of the Construction Week Awards, to be held in Dubai, on 11 December.
Entries to the awards were submitted online and winners were selected by a panel of nine judges.
This is the second year Construction Week has run an awards programme in Oman.
A full review of all the winners will appear in the March 30 issue of Construction Week.
