Al Khodari wins $6.6m Jizan deal
Contract for Ministry of Water and Electricity to operate sewage plant
Contractor Abdullah AM Al Khodari has announced that it been awarded a $6.6m (SR: 24.77m) contract from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Water and Electricity.
The contract covers the operating and maintenance of a sewage treatment plant at a migrants' housing area of Jizan over a three-year period.
The firm said that a further announcement on the financial impact of the deal will be made once the contract is signed.
Al Khodari & Sons recently announced plans to launch a business producing its own ready-mix concrete and concrete block.
The firm said that the material produced will be to cover its own projects as well as for sale to third parties.
Al Khodari highlighted the higher cost of construction materials as one of the factors for its 14.3% decline in net profits for 2012 to $36.1m in January. It also highlighted higher labour costs as a result of the Nitaqat programme.
