Mall to undergo refurbishment designed to enhance visitor experience

Deira City Centre has commenced a $6m (AED 22m) redevelopment aimed at enhancing visitor experience with the introduction of new dining options and improved accessibility within some of the malls most popular areas.

Work will carried out on the mall’s Centre Court, metro access area and food court.

Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, senior director of property management at Majid Al Futtaim Properties, owner of the mall, said: “This announcement is in line with Deira City Centre's vision to transform itself as a new, modern lifestyle destination. We're pleased to introduce the redevelopment milestones to shoppers as they accompany us on this exciting journey that will ultimately enhance visitor experience across a number of key areas within the mall.”

The refurbishment, which will be carried out in stages, will start with the Centre Court in late May with the area given a more open floor plan.

The Dubai Metro entrance will then be redesigned to make it more accessible to shoppers along with landscaping work in the area which is expected to be completed in August.

Finally, added dining options and a more comfortable seating area will also be unveiled at the outlet in August.
