BTF-3000 unit uses bio-friendly method to remove airborne contaminants

NEWS, Materials, Corodex stops smells at International City

Corodex Industries and its partner Biorem has successfully installed a biological odour control unit in a wastewater treatment facility in Dubai International City.

The BTF-3000 unit uses a bio-friendly method to remove harmful contaminants in air streams at a wastewater lifting station. It isues sulfur-oxidizing bacteria and other types of friendly bacteria that can eliminate odorous air.

The unit is used in wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and other areas where odorous air containing compounds like hydrogen sulfide or other hazardous air pillitants are present.

Moreover, since it does not rely on any chemical scrubbers, it is better for the environment and reduces the plant's operational and maintenance costs.

Corodex Industries - a wastewater treatment company which is part of the Corodex Group and the M.H. Al Mana Group of Companies (CCG) - has said it is pleased with the installation's results.

"This system will play a significant role in environmental safety as it will help eliminate odors, H2S volatile organic compounds and hazardous air pollutants," said CCG managing director Mahmood Awad. "In addition, the unit does not use any chemicals, which translates to major health benefits for the community."
