SNC-Lavalin wins Yanbu refinery facility contract
Saudi-registered firm builds on early project wins with Yanbu venture
Saudi-registered SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering has been awarded a general engineering services (GES) contract for a new refining and petrochemical facility at the the Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refinery in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
The two-year contract will see SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering carry out a range of engineering services on the project, and follows similar work begun last summer by the firm on another Saudi Aramco project.
"We're very pleased to secure this contract, which further extends our hydrocarbon footprint with Saudi Arabia outside the Saudi Aramco GES+ contract that we were awarded recently," said Neil Bruce, president for resources and environment at the group.
"Our international presence and experience in the oil and gas sector were key to this success."
No financial details have as of yet been provided for the contract.
SNC-Lavalin, one of the largest engineering and construction groups in the world, has recently been grappling with a number of controversies. The company announced last week that a number of directors won’t stand for re-election at its May AGM in an effort to rebuild its leadership team.
