Seamless service delivery
Key FM appointed to provide start to finish property and facilities management.
Key FM has landed an on-going contract with Commercial International Life Insurance Company (CIL) in Egypt, to provide a complete property and facilities management solution during and after the relocation of its headquarters.
Stan Mitchell, director, Key FM, exclusively revealed the contract win at last month's Working Buildings Middle East exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
He said: "CIL has spent a number of years trying to source, procure and establish a management strategy for a new headquarters building and have been unsuccessful to date. We are effectively becoming its property and facilities department, so will integrate within the management structure of the organisation."
Key FM will assist CIL in the move from the initial identification of a new location to the design of the new building, developing KPIs and SLAs to managing the FM budget and finally providing a full, integrated FM service.
"We will try and operate how we would if we were an in-house team. That process has to be managed and communicated so that CIL are in control. They understand what we are doing and the likely costs associated with each stage of the process, it's a very transparent relationship," added Mitchell.
The contract win comes just weeks before Key FM's expansion plans into Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE, in early 2008.
Mitchell adds that facilities management in the Egyptian market is still very new with a major slant towards educating the clients. "The Egyptian market place is like what the UK market place was 20 years ago in terms of understanding and grasping the value that real FM can deliver.
CIL is a joint venture between CIB and Legal & General and offers life insurance products.
