Detour starts for Jahra Road tunnel project

Diversions put in place to allow 650m tunnel project to complete

Kuwait's Ministry of Public Works has begun a detour at the intersection with between the Jahra Road at its intersection with the second Ring Road in Kuwait to make way for its new 650m-long tunnel project.

The tunnel project, which extends from the Jahra Gate roundabout the the United Nations' roundabout in the western region of Kuwait, is one of the main projects in the ministry's plans to develop roads and motorways in order to meet future traffic demand.

Eng Yasser Boudastour, who is overseeing the project, said thhe project needed a lot of space in order to develop roads and bridges around the tunnel.

He said: "We ask all drivers to use caution while driving within the construction area and abide by all traffic guidelines to secure road safety for them and the project's construction workers."

The consultants on the project are a collaboration between Louis Berger and Pan Arab Consulting Engineers. Main contractor is Arab Contractors Company (ACC).
