Green building envelope systems in EGBC's focus
Networking event to highlight envelope importance in sustainability
Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) is hosting an event to highlight the importance of building envelope systems to promote sustainable built environments.
Dr. Andreas Kiesewetter, head of the building envelope systems, DAW, International Business Unit, and Brown Joseph, technical development manager, Dow Construction Chemical, will lead a discussion on implementing measures that will complement the sustainable development goals of the UAE.
Adnan Sharafi, EGBC chairman, said: "The different components of the construction sector play a key role in achieving the overall sustainability of the building. Through the networking event, we are highlighting the effective measures that can be implemented by the construction industry, right from the project planning stage, to promote energy efficiency.
"With the UAE and the Gulf region witnessing tremendous infrastructure development, bringing together all industry stakeholders to discuss sustainable construction strategies can help make tangible contributions to securing a greener future."
Sponsored by Dow Construction Chemical and German paint manufacturer Caparol, the session will focus on the significant role that wall insulation plays in the energy efficiency of buildings. It will also compare the various technologies available and highlight the advantages and best practices of using External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) in creating perfect building envelopes.
The event will be held on May 7, 2013, at Grand Hyatt Dubai from 6.30pm. It is open to both members and non-members of the Council. Fees to attend the event are AED 50 for members and AED 150 for non-members. Interested participants can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
