RAK's Al Hamra Mall extension ready in September
Home of Architecture says Ras Al Khiamah construction work on track
The extension to Al Hamra Mall in Ras Al Khaimah is due to be completed in September, the lead consultant has said.
Sherif Fathi, managing director of Home Architecture, told CW that the extension would have two levels: one for retail and another for a Vox cinema and children's entertainment centre Fun City. Foundations were cast at the start of April, he added.
The current Al Hamra Mall is a 37,000m2 two-storey shopping centre set amidst the residential development of Al Hamra Village.
Al Hamra Mall is owned and operated by Al Hamra Real Estate Development LLC.
Lisa Ruddock, Al Hamra Group leasing manager said: "The extension will add a leasable area of 70,115 sq.ft to the existing 197,077 sq.ft, an increase of 35%. The additional retail space on the ground floor will provide for the introduction of several medium size - 4,000sqft - 7,000 sq.ft - units for international fashion stores and casual dining.
"By the end of 2013, residents and visitors to the fastest growing area of Ras Al Khaimah will be able to enjoy in Al Hamra Mall the kind of shopping and entertainment that they would have previously had to travel to Dubai to find.”
