ADT expands into Middle East market

Global fire and security solutions provider ADT has expanded into the Middle East market.

Global fire and security solutions provider ADT has expanded into the Middle East market.

The Tyco International subsidiary will be based in Abu Dhabi alongside its sister company Tyco Fire & Security and will initially focus on delivering solutions for the transport & logistics; finance and banking; technology; and tourism sectors.

ADT designs, installs and services electronic fire and security systems for residential, business and government customers. The move has been made to meet market demand following Tyco Fire & Security opening in Abu Dhabi in 1995. "What our customers are now saying is because of the increased risk and perceived risks in security they are looking for worldwide brands to bring their expertise into the market," reported Neil Harrington, director of strategic accounts for ADT Middle East. "A number of our key global clients are also opening offices in the region and are seeking local support."

The firm will initially focus on its UAE operations; it has a three-year plan to expand throughout the remainder of the Gulf. "Within three years we will have a presence in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and the other Gulf states," stated Harrington.

The firm is currently recruiting staff for the office from a worldwide pool of experts. It has already secured its first two projects in the region.
