MAF Dalkia has been selected by Tourism Development Investment Company (TDIC) to support Abu Dhabi’s exclusive mixed-use development – the Eastern Mangroves.

Under the three-year contract, the facilities management and energy firm will incorporate energy-saving principles and provide a range of technical services enabling TDIC to operate the project as a world-class residential, retail and lifestyle destination.

“MAF Dalkia is pleased to bring our expertise to TDIC, Abu Dhabi’s leading developer of major tourism destinations, and to support the on-going development of the prestigious Eastern Mangroves,” said Alexandre Mussallam, CEO of MAF Dalkia.

“We are excited to incorporate our energy optimization principles into the project, and bring a superior level of service demanded by a development of this calibre.”

MAF Dalkia’s scope of work for the Eastern Mangroves will cover all developments within the wider site to include MEP services, asset management and help desk services, and a range of support soft services.

Furthermore, MAF Dalkia will be running a dedicated energy centre featuring a 6,000-refrigerated tonne district cooling plant.

TDIC’s Eastern Mangroves development occupies a prime position along a 1.2km stretch of Abu Dhabi’s protected mangroves district. It currently features the five-star Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara which opened in 2012, and premium residential complexes.

In addition, the development also hosts a retail promenade that is scheduled to open in the third quarter of this year.

MAF Dalkia is a joint venture created in 2002 between Majid Al Futtaim Ventures and Dalkia. It employs1,500 people serving a portfolio of clients in the residential, commercial, industrial and healthcare sectors.
