VSL Muscat wins work on Al Mahaj interchange
Firm to carry out the reinforced soil walls & bridge post tensioning
Post-tensioning specialist VSL Middle East has been awarded a contract on the Al Mahaj interchange project in Oman.
VSL’s locally-registered firm VSL Muscat will carry out the reinforced soil walls and bridge post tensioning on behalf of CCC Oman.
Construction of the new interchange at Al Mahaj roundabout in Amerat began in March.
Traffic from Bausher, Wadi Adai and Quriyat merges at Al Mahaj roundabout and construction of the interchange is expected to ease congestion.
The new flyover parallel to the existing road will serve motorists driving between Amerat and Wadi Adai, while an offshoot of this flyover will be built to connect Amerat and Bausher.
Elsewhere in the Sultanate, VSL is providing its VSol Reinforced Soil wall technology and bridge post tensioning systems for the pre-cast bridge beams and CIP bridge decks for phases 1A and 1B of the Bid-Bid to Sur Highway under the guidance of the main contractors Astaldi/Ozkar and HLG/STFA respectively.
