Ghesa nets US$2.7m Dubai contracts

Water feature specialist Ghesa has begun work on two new projects in Dubai, Commercial Outdoor Design can reveal.

Water feature specialist Ghesa has begun work on two new projects in Dubai, Commercial Outdoor Design can reveal.

The firm is to construct a fountain for Emaar in the Marina area, and a water and sculpture feature for the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the Diyafa road area, Ghesa CEO Carlos Gomes Pissarra told COD.

"The contracts are signed for the projects," he said, adding that the combined value of the deals was approximately US$2.7 million.

The Spanish headquartered firm, which designs and installs fountains, established operations in Dubai in April last year.

Its work in the region includes project work for Emaar and the City of Arabia as well as consultancy on the fountains in Mall of the Emirates.

Ghesa attracted significant attention for its computer generated water technology, which enables graphics or scripts to be formed by water droplets, at the Cityscape shows last year.

The firm gained a rival in this arena last month with the launch in the Middle East of AquaScript, a joint venture between management and consulting group KLP and marketing firm USE Enterprises.
