TDIC floats tender for Saadiyat Island infra work

Contractors asked to pre-qualify for build work for cultural district

Abu Dhabi's Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) is inviting contractors to pre-qualify for main contract infrastrcuture works at Saadiyat Island's cultural district.

The project involves the construction of the roads, utility services, and infrastructure to service the individual plots within the district from nearby Sheikh Khalifa Expressway.

Contractors who meet the criteria can register their interest and request a pre-qualification document (PQD), at by 25 July 2013 and arrange for collection by latest 30 July 2013. Responses to the PQD must be in by 1pm on 6 August 2013.

Saadiyat Island is one of TDIC's flagship developments, a natural island located 500 metres off the coast of Abu Dhabi. It will eventually be home to an estimated 145,000 residents with a full complement of leisure and tourism facilities, as well as civic and cultural institutions. 

The cultural district, spread across a total land area of 2,430,000m², will feature when complete the Zayed National Museum (2016), Guggenheim Abu Dhabi (2017), Louvre Abu Dhabi (2015), and Performing Arts Centre.
