Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has won a ten year contract to provide smart integrated telecom and IT services to the Jabal Omar Development in Makkah.

The deal builds on the agreement struck between STC and Jabal Omar for Development in 2008 for the company’s execution of telecom network infrastructure on the Jabal Omar project.

Anef Abanumi, general manager of EBU sales, signed for STC while Samir Al-Qurashi , executive general manager, signed for Jabal Omer for Development.

The Jabal Omar project, which extends over an area of 230,000m2, includes 26 hotels spread among 38 towers.

With each tower consisting of between 20 and 48 stories, the project will be able to accommodate about 35,000 residents when complete.

Saudi Binladin Group is the main contractor on the project, which is expected to be operational by the end of 2015.
