FM firm reinforces Dubai's Expo Bid
Firm says Dubai landing 2020 Expo would spur economic development
Facilities management firm Imdaad has voiced its support for Dubai hosting the Expo 2020, expected to run from Jan 4 to June 30, 2020.
The emirate is one of the top contenders among four cities announced earlier this year.
The World Expo events facilitate economic, cultural and social development are of particular interest to Dubai. Its bid has highlighted its eco-friendly poplicies with world-class facilities management services.
“Earning the privilege of hosting Expo 2020 would energize Dubai’s various sectors," Imdaad's CEO, Jamal Lootah, said: "For its part, Imdaad has always been driven by its responsibility to support socio-economic development in Dubai and across the UAE.
"Expo 2020 would be an ideal platform for us to support local and national growth while showcasing the scope, quality and potential of the UAE’s FM industry,” he added.
The UAE government has allotted a $340m (AED: 1.25bn) aid package and co-operation funds as part of Dubai’s Expo bid. This includes funding to allow poorer nations to represent themselves at the event.
The winning host will be announced in November this year.
