Taj Palace Dubai gets Earthcheck Silver Certified

Certificate given for its commitment to environment-friendly policies

The Taj Palace Hotel in Dubai has been awarded a Silver Certification from Earthcheck, an internationally recognized environmental management and certification program designed specifically for the travel and tourism industry.

The hotel, which has 159 rooms and suites along with 90 apartments, has been given the prestigious certificate on account of its commitment to environment-friendly policies in keeping with the world’s highest environmental standards.

Ahmed Badawy, acting general manager, said: “We are truly proud of this accomplishment that reflects our dedication to green and sustainable practices designed to limit our carbon footprint.”

“Respect for environment is part of our core values and therefore integral to our operations,” Badawy said. “We have rolled out a number of simple initiatives in this respect that has helped us to significantly reduce waste, water and energy consumption.”

The Earthcheck program has been used by more than 1,300 organisations in over 70 countries around the world.
