Window-cleaning equipment falls from Tecom tower

One person killed and another injured in the accident

A window-cleaning equipment snapped and fell from the 34-storey Al Shaiba Tower A in the Tecom area of Dubai, killing one person and injuring another.

According to a report on Emirates 24/7, the accident, which happened early on Tuesday morning, was caused due to the collapse of a window-cleaning cradle installed on the building.

The equipment, which was being attached to the building floor by floor, fell when it reached the 31st floor.

Eyewitnesses claim that the victims of the accident were deliverymen passing through the area.

Besides hitting a balcony on the 31st floor, the fall of the equipment also crashed five vehicles at the location, of which four have been totally damaged.
