Hawazen Esber has been named chief executive officer of The Wave, Muscat - Oman's lifestyle destination.

And chairman, Sultan bin Hamdoon Al Harthi, believes the appointment brings with it valuable new expertise as they plot a successful future.

He said: “I am greatly looking forward to working with Hawazen to drive our growth agenda and to continue to build on the world-class achievements this project has attained, as well as to drive the progress of Integrated Tourism projects in Oman.”

Esber previously held the position of director of residential at Majid Al Futtaim Properties, prior to which he was CEO of the premier Syrian property development company Bena, where he was in charge of a real estate portfolio ranging from hospitality assets to master-planned communities and retail.

He said: “I am looking forward to taking The Wave, Muscat, to the next level as a first-class tourist destination in the heart of the city of Muscat. I am confident that very exciting times and great opportunities lie ahead of us.”
