Galfar confirms $175m Muscat airport deal

Work on new catering building will take 638 days to complete

Galfar Engineering & Contracting has confirmed the award of a $175m (OR67.4m) deal to build a new catering facility at Muscat International Airport.

In a statement to the Muscat Securities Market on November 30, the company said it had been awarded a tender to build the facility by the Ministry of Transport.

It said the work will take just under two years to complete, with a 90-day design period followed by a construction period of 548 days.

A statement by chief executive officer Dr. Hans Erlings said the firm expected "reasonable income from this project".
