Kingdom Tower milestone announced as new CEO of developer is unveiled
Piling works at Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, which is set to become the tallest building in the world, are now complete.
The announcement was made in conjunction with the unveiling of Mounib Hammoud as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of the project’s developer, Jeddah Economic Company (JEC).
Talal Al-Maiman, executive director development and domestic investments of JEC parent company Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), chairman and CEO of Kingdom Real Estate Development Company (KRED), a board member of KHC and a board member of JEC, announced the appointment of the new CEO.
Hammoud’s primary task in his new role is to develop an integrated modern city featuring the 1,000m-high Kingdom Tower, according to a statement.
The new CEO has more than 20 years of experience in urban planning and real estate development in the MENA region.
Hammoud has also held various executive positions at Solidere and Solidere International where he played a pivotal role in their success.
“Hammoud joins us at an important stage of the project where we trust that he will lead this stage and continue the journey in line with the vision of Prince Alwaleed and our partners in JEC,” said Almaiman.
”JEC will enter a new and thriving era and it will play a pre-eminent role in developing the real estate sector in Saudi Arabia and, more specifically, in Jeddah,” he added.
