Galfar secures Omani orders worth $35m

Company pens contracts to build new fishing port and medical centre

Galfar Engineering and Contracting has announced a pair of new contract wins worth over $35m.

The company submitted the winning tender for a project to build a new fishing port in Nabur in the Liwa region of the North Al Batinah Governate from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Its bid was worth $25.7m (OMR9.9m).

Meanwhile, the company has also announced that it was awarded a $10m-plus contract to build a new medical centre at phase one of the Ras Al Hamra development project from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). It is expected to take 18 months to complete.

Galfar CEO Dr Hans Erlings said that it expects "reasonable income" from both projects.
