PDO signs deal to build three public majleses

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to construct three public majleses in the wilayat of Shaleem and Juzor Al Halaneyat.

The project comes as part of PDO's social investment programme and in line with its continuous commitment to support local communities in the concession area, the company said in a statement.

PDO external affairs director Mundhir bin Salim Al Barwani signed the MoU committing to the project with Sheikh Bakheet bin Salim Al Mashani, Wali of Shaleem and Juzor Al Halaneyat, at a special ceremony held at PDO Oil and Gas Exhibition Centre in Muscat.

Al Barwani said: "The new public majlises will serve as a very important social hub where local citizens meet during social occasions which will further strengthen social bonds between members of the community.

"Through its social investment programme, the company has always supported projects that lead to sustainable benefits to neighbouring communities and assist them progress and prosper. These public Majlises are in line with this vision."
