Oman floats tenders for sports stadia

Two complexes are to be constructed at Ibra and Rustaq

Oman's Ministry of Sports Affairs has floated tenders for a pair of new sports complexes at Ibra and Rustaq.

The work at Ibra involves the construction and maintenance of a sports complex with a 12,000-capacity stadium, conference room, fitness halls and other facilities.

To date, 11 firms have requested tender documents including National United Engineering & Contracting Co, Galfar and Al Khalili Construction.

The second is for a sports complex at Rustaq containing a 17,000-seat football stadium, training ground, hockey pitch, tennis courts, covered Olympic swimming pool and a gymnasium.

Bids for both complexes are due by 27 January.
