A delegation from Dubai is to travel to the Kurdistan region of Iraq as part of a strategy to expand into key emerging markets of the world.

The Dubai Chamber team, headed by chairman Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair and including a number of senior business leaders, will hold meetings, site visits and a roundtable discussion with prominent public and private sector representatives of the Kurdistan region.


The three-day visit, from 13 January, is mainly to identify opportunities for joint cooperation, particularly in industry, construction, transport, communications, real estate, tourism and agriculture.

Dubai has plans to trade with Kurdistan region and also to use the region as a base for business and trade with the rest of Iraq, and with other countries in the Middle East and Central Asia, including Turkey.
