Omani contractor appoints new CEO

Al Hassan Engineering appoints Dr Fahd Al Haj Bakour to post

Al Hassan Engineering, the Oman-based contractor which specialises in oil & gas and infrastructure work, has announced the appointment of Dr Fahd Al Haj Bakour as its new CEO.

Dr Bakour has been working in the contracting sector in the UAE for the past six years, having previously worked for firns in Saudi Arabia and Syria.

In a statement to the Muscat Securities Market, Al-Hassan Engineering Co's board of directors said they hoped he would "add more development and modernisation to the company and an increase in the bulk of new business".

The firm also thanked its longstanding former CEO Peter Hall for "the great services he has done for the company" during his five-year tenure as CEO from 2008-2013. He has also been retained by the company as a consultant on an ongoing basis.
