AECOM hosts inaugural BIFM member event in Dubai
Event chaired by Liz Kentish, vice chairperson, BIFM
Members of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) came together in early January for an event chaired by Liz Kentish, vice chairperson of the BIFM at AECOM’s offices in U-Bora Tower, Business Bay, Dubai.
The event was hosted by Linda Engstrom-Condon, Associate, who leads AECOM’s asset and facilities management consultancy services in the Middle East.
Following networking, Liz chaired a discussion about the status of the FM industry in the Middle East, the typical challenges faced and the future role of the profession.
Liz Kentish commented: “The BIFM has members across the globe in more than 60 countries. This is the first time I’ve visited the UAE and I am amazed by its growth and vibrancy; most obviously manifested in the fantastic new buildings that constantly seem to appear."
"It was great to meet and exchange views with our members who are responsible for managing a large number of these buildings," she added. "The topics discussed were wide-ranging, but it is always interesting that a lot of the challenges facing facilities managers are universal and not region or country specific."
