New $700m project in Assir region will contain 1,350 beds

King Faisal Medical City is one of a series of hugel healthcare projects currently under way across Saudi Arabia.

The $700m project in the Assir region will contain 1,350 beds in a general hospital and five specialty hospitals providing cardiology, neurology, oncology, rehabilitation and opthalmology services.

It will also contain social infrastructuire including a moosque, housing for staff, a hotel and retail units.

The project has been designed by HDR Architecture, which put this fly-through together.

Its design concept for the facility, based on Islamic architecture principles, it is to provide family-centric healthcare through the integration of the built and natural environment.
