Al Khodari wins $38.9mn street cleaning deal
Company picks up five-year deal for north east city of Hafr Al Batin
Abdullah AM Al-Khodari & Sons, the Al Khobar-based contractor which carries out the bulk of its work for the Saudi government, has picked up a $38.9mn (SR145.9mn) city cleaning contract.
The deal from the Ministry of Municipal & Rural Affairs will see it carry out cleaning in the city of Hafr Al Batin in the north eastern part of the country - close to its border with Kuwait. It runs for five years.
On Monday, it was revealed that Al Khodari's profits for 2013 dropped by 52% to $17.2mn, which it blamed on higher costs.
However, new contract wins during the year virtually trebled to $720mn (SR2.7bn) - up from $253mn (SR950mn) in 2012.
