DTZ, a global leader in integrated property services, has announced that its FM business in Saudi Arabia, UGL Services, has been appointed as the integrated FM service provider for the Headquarters Business Park in Jeddah.

A project of the Al-Dar Al-Khasa for Urban Development Company, the Headquarters Business Park is a 52-storey mixed-use building that is set to become the tallest building in Jeddah once its construction is completed in the spring. UGL Services will be responsible as a managing contractor for providing integrated FM services to the building.

Richard Naylor, chief executive – Saudi Arabia, UGL Services, said: “This recent win is key to UGL Services' organic growth in Saudi Arabia, which has seen us secure a portfolio of FM projects across a variety of sectors including automobile, healthcare and technology, providing ‘best in class’ services to a number of multi-national clients in the Kingdom.”

Eng. Essam Fakieh, managing partner, Al-Dar Al-Khasa for Urban Development Company, added: “We are very pleased to be partnering with an international thoroughbred such as UGL Services. Like every relationship, there have been some testing times along the way, but we have never lost confidence in our decision to choose UGL Services as our partner and IFM provider for this megaproject.”

UGL Services will be providing services that include, but not limited to, planned and reactive maintenance of MEP systems, cleaning, security, landscaping, reception, valet parking, as well as fit-out supervision and the management of CMMS software and a 24/7 helpdesk. This three-year contract follows on from the deployment of an initial transition and handover management team.

According to UGL Services, the contract, which was secured against international competition, strengthens the company’s geographical growth from its base in Riyadh into Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s second largest city.
