Hyder hails Middle East growth

Company says Qatar market strong and Saudi Arabian business is growing

Hyder Consulting, the UK-headquartered engineering consultancy practice, has said that it is "encouraged" by the outlook for its business thanks in part to its expansion in the Middle East.

The company, which is working on a joint venture with Jeddah Municipality to improve its infrastrcture, said that its trading perforrnace for the year to 31 March will be in line with expectations, with the UK market recovering and the Middle East offering "a range of promising opportunities".

"In Qatar we are working on a number of large infrastructure projects, our business in Saudi Arabia is growing and the UAE market is improving," it said.

"We have an excellent order book, our financial position is strong and we have confidence in the group's future prospects," the company said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange.
