Oman Gas Company (OGC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Salalah Free Zone (SFZ) and Port of Salalah to build a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) processing plant at SFZ, and storages and export facilities at the Port of Salalah.

The project will also involve increasing the length of gas and liquid pipeline network in Salalah, according to a press release issued by OGC.

Eng Yousuf al Ojaili, CEO of OGC, said the project is expected to be onstream by 2018 and will provide employment and industrial growth opportunities in the Salalah area.

The new LPG plant is designed based on the latest technology and strict health, safety and environment (HSE) principles that allow for very high recovery of propane, butane and condensates.
