Swiss-owned facilities management company Farnek recently gave Switzerland’s ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Andrea Reichlin, a guided tour of its new dedicated training facility at its 2,500m2 office building located in the Al Quoz area of Dubai.

The state-of-the-art training centre has been purpose-built to train Farnek employees both theoretically and practically on how to clean different areas and surfaces effectively and efficiently. Besides having areas set up as bathrooms, kitchens and elevators, the facility also has its walls and floors covered in a variety of materials like carpet, rubber, slate, etc.

Commenting on her visit, Reichlin said: “As a Swiss government institution overseas, it is an essential part of our assignment to support Swiss companies, operating in the UAE. I remember visiting these impressive offices last year shortly after it had opened, and it is laudable that Farnek has already created this practical in-house training facility.”

“Cleaning processes and systems have become incredibly technical,” she added. “It really has developed into a science, where safety and sustainability are now as important as cleanliness, and of course, I am pleased that it is a Swiss company that is pushing the boundaries.”

Speaking about the new training centre, Farnek CEO Markus Oberlin said: “Farnek has built its reputation on quality and best practice, and our dedicated in-house training facility will maintain our market edge, and complement our other initiatives such as colour-coding, sustainable products and BICSc compliance.”

Farnek is one of the region’s foremost facilities management companies and a leader in sustainability, with a skilled workforce of more than 1,500 people, maintaining over 1,000 properties alone on behalf of many international and regional companies.
