Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) has invited contractors to prequalify for coastal protection works at the cultural district north beach in Saadiyat Island.

The project scope includes offshore sand sourcing, excavation/reclamation works, fill compaction, beach filling/profiling, rock revetment groynes and detachment breakwaters.

Contractors have until 21 May to register their interest.

The culturul district, spread across a total land area of 2,430,000m², when fully developed will include the likes of the New York University Abu Dhabi (opening this month), Cranleigh School, the Louvre Abu Dhabi (2015), Zayed National Museum (2016), Guggenheim Abu Dhabi (2017), and a Performing Arts Centre.

In July last year, TDIC floated a tender for the district's main contract infrastructure works.
