New UAE landscape contractor Blakedown International Landscaping has said it is looking to double its staff over the next six months.

The UK-based firm, which began operations in Dubai last August, is planning to significantly increase its current work force of approximately 20 people over the next six months, managing director Nicholas Barfoot, told Commercial Outdoor Design in a recent interview.

"We've got approximately 20 people here at the moment and expect our work force to increase by 50% over the next six months," he said.

The firm, which offers landscape contracting and construction of sports facilities services, is one of the longest established landscape contractors in the UK, where it employs 65 staff.

In the UAE, it will compete with established contractors such as Desert Landscapes.
