Chinese firm Liugong has expanded its portfolio with a range of mobile cranes.

The firm, which is represented in the UAE by Dynatrade group, has taken over rival firm  Bengbu Zhencong Ltd, complete with factories and facilities. Liugong plans to spend RMB 1 billion to reorganize, expand, and modernise the company. When completed the facility will cover more than 320,000 square meters and have a production capacity of more than 5000 units by the end of 2012.

Speaking to at a recent event Liugong president Mr. Zeng said "We will work to improve the product over the next two years before looking seriously at export markets. The new range will be branded Liugong"

The news comes in the same month that US crane giant Manitowoc signed a partnership deal with little-known TaiAn Dongyue Co. to produce truck mounted cranes "This transaction solidifies Manitowoc's position in one of the world's fastest-growing construction markets," said Eric Etchart, president of Manitowoc's Crane segment.

Elsewhere in China, tower crane manufacturer Yongmao has signed a deal to take over local rival Fushun Engineering and Machinery Co., and also plans to modernise the plant in order to produce mobile crawler cranes. It is likely that the refurbished plant will meet international standards, as all existing Yongmao products bear the CE mark.
