Video: Etihad Rail testing

Progress on rail link throughout the UAE is well on track

The latest testing has taken place for the Etihad Rail line.

The network, which is being built in phases to link the principal centres of population and industry of the UAE, will also form a vital part of the planned GCC railway network linking the six countries of the GCC: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE.

Speaking at the Construction Week UAE Infrastructure Summit 2014 in March, Faris Al Mazrouai, project manager, Etihad Rail, revealed phase one of the 1,200km-long line, linking Ruwais and Shah gas field, was progressing as scheduled, with initial test runs completed.

And this video shows that the project remains well on track.
