Cofely Besix Facility Management has acquired a 49% stake in a facility management company owned by Mannai Corporation in Qatar to create a new venture called Cofely Besix Mannai Facility Management (CBMFM).

The two companies, both of which have commendable presence in the Middle East FM market, will combine their respective strengths to offer integrated FM services to clients in Qatar.

Commenting on his company’s partnership with Mannai Corporation, Ian Harfield, general manager, Cofely Besix Facility Management, said: “Both business entities are leading FM companies in their own right, and by combining the strengths of both companies, we will be able to deliver a wider range of services to our clients, and gain an even larger presence in the market.”

Alekh Grewal, group CEO and director of Mannai Corporation, agreed with Harfield, saying: “With a significant amount of infrastructure and construction projects anticipated in Qatar over the coming years, CBMFM is rightly positioned to capitalise on the facility management services demand arising from the domestic market.”

The key focus of CBMFM will be to drive the improvement of a facility’s performance while reducing operational costs and risks through activities such as maintenance management, energy conservation, lifecycle costing and analysis as well as comprehensive facility and property portfolio management solutions.

It’s offering of technical services will include the maintenance of air-conditioning, HVAC, electrical work, and integrated building facilities services, as well as managing and delivering soft services, waste removal, grounds maintenance and security.
