CCC and Galfar battle it out for Omani road deal
Eight companies vie for contract with Nagarjuna submitting lowest bid
Two of the region’s largest construction companies, Consolidated Contractors Co (CCC) and Galfar Engineering and Contracting Company, are in the running for a contract to build an Omani road project.
They are among eight companies bidding to work on the Izki-Nizwa road dualisation project in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah.
According to Oman’s Tender Board website, Consolidated Contractors Co has submitted a $119.4mn (OMR 45.94mn), while Galfar Engineering and Contracting Company has priced the job at $100.3mn (OMR 38.62mn).
However, both companies were undercut by Nagarjuna Construction Company International, which submitted the lowest bid at $88mn (OMR 33.88mn).
Other bids include Hasan Bin Juma Bin Backer Trading and Contracting at $101.6mn (OMR 39.11mn), Oman Emirates Contracting Company at $136.6mn (OMR 52.57mn), Oman Shapoorji Construction Company at $122.2mn (OMR 47.04mn), Yuksal Construction at $95.4mn (OMR 36.72mn) and Al Shanfari Trading Co at $95.6mn (OMR 36.8mn).
The tender for the dualisation of the Izki-Nizwa road project was floated in October last year by Oman’s Ministry of Transport and Communication.
