Punj Lloyd receives LoA for $236mn Kuwait project

Scheme to expand and revamp Ahmadi Depot over 35 months

EPC conglomerate Punj Lloyd has received a Letter of Award for a $236.09mn project to expand and revamp Ahmadi Depot in Kuwait from Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). 

This is Punj Llyod's first ever contract in Kuwait. The scope of work includes the design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of 11 new floating roof product tanks with a capacity of approximately 228,000m3. The project is scheduled to be completed over 35 months.

It also includes allied civil work, interconnecting piping, construction of multi-product loading points, sub-substation with all electrical systems including emergency power supply.

Besides, it involves replacement of depot automation systems (TAS), integration to the new tank gauging system, upgrading of existing Vapour Recovery Unit (VRU), Cathodic Protection System with remote monitoring, fire protection system and all utility packages.

CEO – pipeline & tankage of Punj Llyod, Atul Jain, said: “With this new order in Kuwait, we will play an important role in enhancing the storage and loading capacity of fuel at the Ahmadi Depot, which is one of the two depots owned and operated by Kuwait National Petroleum Company.”
