Bee’ah has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE Ministry of Health (MoH) that will see the Sharjah-based waste management company help in the recycling of the latter’s waste materials.

Besides helping the MoH improve its environmental policy, the MoU will also aim to enhance awareness campaigns that will address topics like the reduction of waste and the wider adoption of recycling practices.

Awadh Seghayer Al Kitbi, the MoH’s assistant under-secretary for supporting services, said the agreement with Bee’ah enhances the ministry’s efforts in building partnerships between both public and private sectors to integrate efforts in tackling various environmental challenges.

"It also aims at achieving the best cultural and environmental results among the society members and officials in support of the appropriate decisions that are for the benefit of the environment,” Al Kitbi added.

Al Kitbi explained the MoU will also aim to educate MoH employees to reduce the production of waste and review the materials that are used at work, evaluate the volume of materials and disposable wastes, and also support the cultural and educational awareness campaigns that it organises.
