CSCEC wins two Dubai Palm Jumeirah hotel projects
Company to build two, five-star resort hotels for Arenco Real Estate
China State Construction Engineering Co (CSCEC) has won two contracts from Dubai-based developer Arenco Real Estate to build two new hotels at Palm Jumeirah.
The hotels, which are on adjoining plots, will be five-star resort hotels of around 100,000m2 each. They will both contain a basement, ground, 13 upper floors and a roof area. In total, the developments will house 592 standard rooms, 57 two-bay and three-bay suites as well as a presidential suite.
The projects will take 940 days to complete. The work includes all civil works, MEP, external works and finishes.
In a statement, CSCEC said that these latest wins were "another important march into the luxury hotel market".
It is already building (and is a co-investor in) the $1bn Palm Viceroy Hotel and recently completed the Southern Sun hotel building in Abu Dhabi for Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's company, DAS Holding.
CSCEC, which is the world's third-biggest contractor, said the successful completion of both projects would help to boost its brand and reputation in the region.
