Schneider Electric appoints Saudi and Yemen head

Multinational energy management firm Schneider Electric has appointed Ziad Mortaja as country president for its operations in Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Schneider Electric has three manufacturing plants employing over 1,200 staff in the Kingdom, along with a network of marketing partners.

As part of his role, Mortaja is tasked to plan and implement strategies that further drive Schneider Electric’s growth, profitable revenue streams and market expansion.

Turhan Turhangil, Middle East and Turkey zone president, Schneider Electric, said: “We are delighted to have Mortaja on board. He brings nearly three decades experience supported by an in-depth knowledge and expertise of working in Saudi Arabia.

"The Kingdom is a strategic growth market for us and we needed someone that can convert challenges into profitable business ventures. We are confident Mortaja shares the Schneider Electric vision and look forward to seeing the business register sustained progress under his leadership.”

Commenting on his appointment, Mortaja said: “Saudi Arabia is currently witnessing huge diversification with the industry providing ample opportunity for growth and expansion. I am excited to join Schneider Electric at such a time and lend my expertise to develop and increase the company’s presence in the market.”

Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Mortaja served in a number of senior sales, business development and general management roles with leading companies including HP and Cisco.
