Hill International to run $1.1bn Oman road project

Consultancy to oversee building of Sections 1 and 2 of Bidbid-Sur link

Hill International has been appointed to manage a $1.1bn road project in Oman.

The company was appointed by Oman's Ministry of Transportation and Communications to manage sections 1 and 2 of the Bidbid-Sur road project. It involves building nine interchanges, two underpasses, two overpasses, retaining walls and around 171 reinforced concrete culverts. The six-lane highway will be 247km long.

Hill International said that it is likely to earn around $4mn from the project.

Senior vice-president Mohammed Al Rais said: "We are honored to be part of this major infrastructure project. The positive impact of the highway on commerce and tourism will benefit all of Oman."
