CULD to open Abu Dhabi office

Dutch urban and landscape design firm Complex Urban Landscape Design (CULD) plans to establish regional office in Abu Dhabi from next month.

Dutch urban and landscape design firm Complex Urban Landscape Design (CULD) is planning to open a regional office in Abu Dhabi, Commercial Outdoor Design can reveal.

Speaking with COD at Cityscape this week, Jaakko van 't Spijker, partner, CULD, said the firm's work on the Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 had motivated its decision to establish a base in the region.

"We were so excited by the Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 and its possibilities. That is what triggered us to come here," he said.

The office, the company's first international branch, will open next month, he added.

CULD participated in collaborative design workshops prior to the development of the masterplan of the 2030 Plan.

A European joint venture between Juurlink + Geluk and Sputnik based in the Netherlands, CULD is specialised in integrated master planning and landscape design.

Its portfolio includes work on the Kaohsiung Waterfront redevelopment in Taiwan, and the Phillips high-tech campus in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
