UAE Ministry's $18.7mn schools investment plans

Extensive maintenance to be completed by 31 August

The Ministry of Education has revealed plans to spend $18.7mn (AED69mn) on maintenance and upgrading of schools across the UAE.

And a further $7mn (AED26mn) will go towards projects at the Ministry of Education that includes the facility management.

According to a report in Gulf News, Amal Al Koos, assistant undersecretary of activities and school environment at the ministry, said 28 schools will receive extensive maintenance worth $8.9mn (AED33mn) in preparation for the new academic year.

Amal said the Ministry of Public Works will complete the extensive maintenance by 31 August.

The schools will include five schools in Dubai, six in Sharjah, four in Ajman, three in Umm Al Quwain, five in Fujairah and five in Ras Al Khaimah.
