Sand-shifting SDLG loader impresses at tile plant
Wheel loader proves itself capable at South African tile producer
An SDLG wheel loader has made a solid first impression at South Africa-based tile manufacturer, Marley Roofing.
The LG938L is currently working at the firm’s Bronkhorstpruit site, 50km east of Pretoria. The machine is being used to load sand into bunkers and to stockpile materials on concrete surfaces at the tile plant.
“We needed a robust machine at an affordable price,” said Alf Bartosch, factory manager at the Marley Roofing facility.
“The LG938L has been handling tough materials all day round, and has been coping very well. We are extremely impressed by the machine’s performance, and as it’s our only wheel loader here, we need it to perform as required, and be able to trust its reliability,” he added.
The unit was supplied to the tile manufacturer by SDLG’s exclusive distributor for South Africa, Babcock International. The LG938L was purchased by Marley Roofing to replace its previous, non-SDLG wheel loader.
When the unit was delivered to the Bronkhorstpruit facility, Marley Roofing employees were given specialised training by Babcock to ensure that they understood how to operate the machine as efficiently as possible.
The SDLG loader arrived at the tile plant earlier this year, and has experienced no reliability problems so far. Bartosch and his colleagues are pleased with its performance so far.
“We have had absolutely no issues with the LG938L, and it has been working smoothly since it was delivered,” he explained.
“We look forward to using this machine for a long time to come,” the factory manager concluded.
