Sweett Group appoints new Asia Pacific director

Peter Dampier joins from Gleeds and will run commercial activities

Sweett Group has appointed Peter Dampier as commercial director for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Hong Kong-based Dampier directly reports to Kim Berry, managing director APAC. He will be responsible for driving the integration and collaboration of APAC business in its client relationships and alliances, leading and developing long term relationships.

Berry said of Dampier's appointment: “I am delighted to welcome a director of Peter’s calibre to the Sweett Group. After a period of significant growth we are putting in the structure to achieve future development goals, in existing and potential regional markets. Peter possesses considerable experience in delivering value for consultancy businesses in emerging markets, and brings with him the strategic insight to drive the new initiatives across the region.”

Dampier is a chartered quantity surveyor with 25 years’ experience across the construction industry, having worked for consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers. He joins after 11 years with Gleeds where he founded and grew a new business unit supporting clients utilisation of collaborative technologies. From 2008, he led their expansion in India, growing the business from a small 10-person acquisition to a pan-India organisation with 125 staff and a network of offices.

Dampier said: “I am delighted to join Sweett Group which has a significant history in APAC, I relish the opportunity, challenge and potential the role brings to add further to that history.”
