Bahrain floats tender to expand main airport

Builders invited to pre-qualify for main construction works package

Bahrain's Ministry of Transport has invited contractors to prequalify to undertake the main construction works for the modernisation of Bahrain International Airport.

The scope of works includes the construction of a new passenger terminal, other buildings that will include all general civil engineering works, MEP, aircraft parking, car parks interiors, and exterior and other related works.

The contractor will be responsible to manage the nominated subcontractor for baggage handling system. passenger loading bridges and information communication technology.

Applicants are advised that funding shall come from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.

UAE companies, or joint venture companies comprising 51% UAE partner shall be given a 10% preferential discretionary scoring consideration.

UAE companies in joint venture with other UAE companies and other international companies where the UAE companies' joint venture share total 51% or more will be given a 10% preferential discretinary scoring consideration.

The deadline for to submit prequalification documents is October 15 2014.
